Purpose
The patient's administrative record contains all of the none clinical information related to a patient. This includes contact information, demographic details, registration, data sharing consent and communication preferences. This guide will show you how to view information on a patient's administrative record.
Navigating to the administrative record
There are two ways to navigate to the patient record within Medicus:
- Using the patient finder.
- By selecting a patient from the patient list, located in the Patient Administration module.
Once you select the patient you'd like to view through one of the methods outlined above, select Administrative Record from the left hand side navigation bar to be taken to the administrative record.
Viewing the administrative record
Patient Banner
When a patient record is selected, the patient banner prominently shows which patient record is in use. Therefore, it's a great way to double check you are in the correct record before performing any actions.
To view additional demographic and contact information, select the arrow within the banner on the left hand side to extend the patient banner. You can do this whilst on any tab on either the clinical or administrative record.
Personal Details
Within the patient details tab you can view and edit:
- A patient's name
- Demographics details
- Contact information
- Preferred language
- Communication preferences
- Pharmacy nominations
Registration
Within the registration tab you can:
- View and/or update current registration details
- Start the deduction process
- View previous registrations
- View a patient's PDS link
Data Sharing
The Data Sharing tab allows you to:
- Edit a patient's Data Sharing Consents
- Setup and edit Patient Online Access
Tasks
The Tasks tab will show all tasks related to the patient.
Online Access
The Online Access tab allows you to grant the patient online access to their patient record.
Booking Links
The Booking Links tab shows all booking links generated for a patient. It will show when the link was created, the appointment service and type, the reason for the appointment and whether an appointment was booked via the link. Clicking onto an appointment will show further information, like who sent the booking link to the patient.
Internal Conversations
The Internal Conversations tab will show any internal conversations linked to the patient.
Yellow Cards
The Yellow Cards tab on the administrative record details any yellow cards submitted to MHRA for that patient.
