Purpose
This user guide will show you how to view, edit and cancel existing appointment diaries in Medicus from the Staff Schedule.
Navigating to the scheduling module
To navigate to the scheduling module, select 'Scheduling & Appointments' from the modules menu on the left-hand side navigation bar.
Once in the scheduling module, select 'Staff Schedule' on the left hand side navigation bar.
Viewing an appointment diary
At a glance, you'll be able to see the appointment service, time, site and how many patients are booked into the diary.
To view additional details for an appointment diary, simply click on the diary you'd like to view from the staff schedule.
This will open up the 'View Appointment Diary' side screen.
Editing an appointment diary
To edit an appointment diary, select the pencil icon in the top right corner of the 'View Appointment Diary' screen.
This will open up the 'Edit Appointment Diary' form.
If there are patients booked into the appointment diary, you'll see a warning banner displayed on the form.
Additionally, you'll be unable to edit the appointment diary start or end time if there are patients booked into appointments either before the new start time or after the new end time.
You'll see the below message informing you to cancel or re-schedule them before completing this action.
Once you've updated the fields you'd like to change, then select 'Save changes' to update the appointment diary.
Cancelling an appointment diary
To cancel an appointment diary, scroll to the bottom of the 'Edit Appointment Diary' and select the 'Cancel diary' button.
You'll be presented with a pop-out form to confirm you'd like to proceed with this action.
Once you select 'Yes, cancel' the appointment diary will be cancelled, and you won't be able to book patients into this diary any longer.
Note: you will be unable to cancel an appointment diary if there are patient appointments booked into the diary already. You will need to cancel or reschedule these appointments before cancelling the diary. The 'Cancel diary' button will be disabled on the form.
