Purpose
Appointments with a 'face-to-face' delivery mode enable you to manually set the appointment arrival status. This user guide will show you how to update the appointment arrival status.
Quickly Arrive Patients
From the Appointment Book
You can arrive a patient in one click from the 'View Appointment Details' slideover. Just select the appointment you want to view from the appointment book and then select 'Click here to mark them as arrived'.
From the Care Record
If a patient has an appointment today then this will be displayed as a banner on their care record. You can click 'Click here' to arrive them in one click.
Amending the Appointment Status
To update the appointment arrival status, select the 'More actions' menu and then the 'Set arrival status' option.
You'll be taken to the 'Set Arrival Status' form.
Select the appointment status you'd like to use and select the 'Mark as' button to update the status.
The arrival status options that are available depend on what the current arrival status is.
You'll be able to manually change the appointment status to:
- Arrived
- Called in
- Remove status
The appointment status will automatically change to Started, Seen, Rescheduled, Late or Did Not Attend based upon the actions taken within Medicus. For example, when a clinician starts a consultation, the status will update to 'Started' or if the appointment date / time is changed, the status will change to 'Rescheduled'.
If the appointment status is Started, Seen, Rescheduled, Cancelled or Did Not Attend then you'll be unable to manually change the appointment status.
Viewing the Appointment Status
Once an appointment has an appointment status assigned, either manually or automatically, this is displayed on the appointment details within the appointment book.
