Purpose
There may be some information in the patient's record that you may not want the patient to see online, for example on the NHSapp, or share with third parties, like the shared care record, because this visibility could place the patient at risk of harm if disclosed. This user guide will show you how to how to redact care record elements from patient online access and mark confidential from third parties.
Redacting from patient online access and marking confidential
When completing any actions on the care record which will be saved on the patient's journal, for example, a note, appointment or consultation, you'll notice two fields on the forms:
- Redact from patient online access
- Mark confidential from third parties
These checkboxes will default as unticked, but you can check these boxes if appropriate.
