Purpose
You can easily move an appointment to a different time slot, diary or queue that is later on the same day. This avoids having to reschedule the appointment (where the original appointment is cancelled and a new one is booked), but allows you to simply move an appointment start time to later in the day. This user guide will show you how to move a patient appointment to a later time.
Note: you can only move the appointment to a time slot, diary or queue that is on the same day as the original appointment. If you would like to move the appointment to a different day then you will need to reschedule the appointment instead.
Managing booked appointments
Once an appointment is booked, the appointment can be managed from numerous places within Medicus:
- Directly from the appointment book
- From the patient appointments tab
- From the patient clinical summary page
Clicking on an appointment will open up the 'View Appointment Details' screen on the right hand side of the page.
From here, you'll be able to view and manage the appointment.
Moving an appointment
Selecting the 'More actions' menu at the bottom of the page offers a number of options to move the appointment:
- Move appointment - this option allows you to move the appointment to a later time slot within the same appointment diary.
- Move appointment to another diary - this option allows you to move the appointment to a later time slot within a different appointment diary.
- Move appointment to a queue - this option allows you to move the appointment from an appointment diary to an appointment queue.
- Move appointment to diary - this option allows you to move an appointment from a queue to a time slot in an appointment diary.
Once you've selected an option from the above list you'll be taken to a pop-out screen showing you available appointments in a diary or queue.
Once you've selected the appointment slot or queue that you'd like to move the patient appointment to, you'll be taken to a confirmation screen.
Review the current and new appointment details to check they are correct before confirming.
You'll also be prompted to send a booking confirmation to the patient.
Once you're happy with the new details, select 'Confirm and move' to move the appointment.
