Purpose
Medicus automatically generates a weekly data extract for the General Practice Appointments Data (GPAD) dashboard for NHS England GP practices. More information on the GPAD dashboard can be found here on the NHSE website.
This user guide will provide information on GPAD reporting in Medicus and show you how you can review the GPAD data exports.
Submitting the GPAD report
Medicus automatically submits the GPAD data every Tuesday, which is sent to NHSE via MESH. There's nothing for the practice to do other than ensure the NHS slot type is recorded correctly.
Slot types are recorded against appointments, meetings and other rota activities to ensure the GPAD export reports on both patient appointments and work conducted outside of appointments.
The report will also take into account an Ad Hoc consultations held in Medicus to ensure work undertaken by the GP practice is not underreported.
Reviewing the GPAD data exports
Previously generated GPAD reports can be viewed and downloaded from the Reporting module within Medicus.
From the Modules menu, select 'Reporting'.
Once in the Reporting module, select 'GP Appointment Data (GPAD)' from the left hand side navigation bar.
Here you'll see a list of previously generated reports that you can view and download.
You can also generate a sample report by select 'Generate example report' in the top right corner.
This will open up the 'Generate Example Export' form where you can set a data range for your report.
Selecting 'Generate report' will download the example report in .csv format.
